The Corridors series was created by the Pittsburgh Business Times four years ago to showcase important growth corridors in the Pittsburgh region. The luncheon event, at Chestnut Ridge Inn, featured a panel of area business leaders describing the region’s history and recent growth to the future potential of job creation from the Marcellus Shale industry. John Cardwell, one of the guest speakers, represented the Murrsyville Economic and Community Development Corporation. John captured interest from all who attended. Murrysville was promoted as the Gateway to Westmoreland County. “Murrysville has everything you need here except a top rate hospital, but that is even nearby in the next town over. Opportunities for future growth are everywhere you look along the Route 22 corridor.” Modernization and Revitalization of Murrysville’s business district is the key to successful growth.
