On June 9, 2010, The Murrsyville Economic and Community Development Corporation [MECDC] hosted a breakfast meeting at the Lamplighter Restaurant, in Delmont.

In attendance were community business owners along with members of the Westmoreland Chamber of Commerce, Larry Larese [Westmoreland County Development Council], Alex Graziani [Executive Director, Westmoreland County Smart Growth], Charles Anderson [Westmoreland County Commissioner], and a representative from the office of Congressman Jason Altmire.

The main speaker featured MECDC Chairman , Charles Hergenroeder, who informed the gathering about the MECDC’s history and past accomplishments. Hergenroeder also presented information about the organizations current and future objectives. The emphasis was to promote and sell the idea to developers utilizing Murrysville’s vacant properties at the Murrysville/Westmoreland County border. Thus creating a desirable entrance into Westmoreland County along Route 22. Larry Larese and Charles Anderson both had positive and encouraging words about the work that the MECDC has done for the community. “Opportunities for future growth are everywhere you look along the Route 22 corridor.”

Special thanks go out to Bill Ferri and Ferri Enterprises for hosting this event.
